Doncaster-based unit Circle Of Origin has unleashed their latest sonic assault with the single “Watching The Walls,” released on April 17, 2026. Serving as the opening salvo for their highly anticipated sophomore EP, Gallows (arriving June 12), the track is a relentless fusion of modern metal intensity and classic stadium-rock grandeur.
Returning to Axis Recording Studios to reunite with producer Matt Elliss, the band has crafted a project that signals a significant evolution from their 2025 debut, Guilty Til Proven Innocent.
Inside the Sound: Modern Metal Meets Stadium Rock
“Watching The Walls” isn’t just a display of technical prowess—it’s a deep dive into the psychological trenches.
- The Theme: Lyrically, the track explores emotional struggle and the “tainted life,” where darkness consumes the mind and reality becomes blurred by all-consuming hatred.
- The Sonic DNA: Drawing from a wide-reaching palette—including Stone Sour, Foo Fighters, Shinedown, and Aerosmith—the band delivers a tapestry of fiery riffs and dual-guitar wizardry.
- The Lineup: Founding members Danny Porter (Vocals), Andy Wordsworth (Guitar), Rick Williamson (Guitar), and Scott Emery (Drums) are now joined by John Heaver on Bass, adding a new layer of depth to their rhythm section.
The Road to Gallows
Arriving this June, the 5-track EP Gallows promises a journey through mosh-pit-rousing structures and emotive vocal performances. It represents a band finding their stride, successfully balancing underground alternative metal with a lavish sense of scale that feels built for the biggest stages.
“A captivating journey of fiery riffs and vocal performances that ooze emotive bite and potency.”
